What's the difference between cyclen and tri cyclen birth control pills?

Hormone doses: Cyclen is a "monophasic" pill-- every active pill in the pack has the same type and amount of hormone. Tri-cyclen is a "triphasic" pill-- there are three different doses of hormone in the pack. That is why there are different colored pills in the tri-cyclen pack.
