Find another form: You probably have not found a form of contraception that is right for you; there are many kinds out there. Have a frank talk with your doctor about all of the options before you decide to give up. Sex is designed to be a pleasure and not something to be a turn off.
Dr. Bryan Treacy
Gynecology 35 years experience
See your doctor: If your doctor will not take the time to find an appropriate contraceptive method for you, find another doctor. I have never treated a woman for whom i could not find a tolerable contraceptive method. If oral hormone bcp cause side effects, frequently a good choice is the intrauterine device. As a direct pay physician, I am able to take whatever time i need to address issues such as these.

Chronic illness: This usually decreases your desire to have sex and your sex drive. This is due to central neural mechanisms.

How can retirement improve my sex life?

1 doctor answer1 doctor weighed in
Dr. Pedro Hernandez
Geriatrics 40 years experience
Maybe yes/no: Retirement helps to reduce the stress of a job but in itself brings new forms of stress. If a pt has erectile dysfunction caused by a medical structural problem it won't get better? I guess you will have more time available for sexuality?
A 43-year-old member asked:

What herbs must I avoid during pregnancy?

Dr. Bryan Levey
Pediatrics 27 years experience
Several: Pennyroyal, raspberry leaf, blessed thistle, aconite, slippery elm, tansy, many, many others. Consult with someone who knows before taking any medicinal herbs during pregnancy. If, however, it's something you find in the a standard kitchen spice rack, it's probably fine.
A 34-year-old member asked:

Why is sex addiction difficult to treat in younger people?

2 doctor answers6 doctors weighed in
Dr. Peter Forster
Psychiatry 36 years experience
Focus of young: For a number of reasons sexual activity is much higher in young people anyway. For instance, hormone levels tend to stimulate interest. But also young people are surrounded by messages in the media and social media encouraging relationships and sexuality. All of this makes treatment harder, but certainly not possible.
A member asked:

Why does air come from my vagina during or after sex?

1 doctor answer3 doctors weighed in
Dr. Michael Swor
Obstetrics and Gynecology 40 years experience
Vaginal air bubbles: Sexual activity can sometimes cause air bubbles to collect in the vagina, which then are expelled during or after sex. It's not a problem and not unusual. Get your regular gyn checkup to be sure that is what it is.
