A member asked:

Is it possible that a positive for a herpes culture be wrong?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Herpes culture: A positive culture means that the virus was present and actually grew and multiplied in the lab. The only way it would be wrong is if the made some kind of mistake with labeling your specimen and mixing it up with somebody else. That would be very very very rare for a culture.
