Not Plan B: You should not consider Plan B birth control. It is emerency contraception only, and is not good to use as your primary contraception unless you only are planning on having sex once or twice a year. It is not good for the female body to have that type of hormonal treatment numerous times a month/year. Pick some other type of ongoing contraception if you are going to be sexually active.

Contraception: Plan b is not intended to be used as primary contraception and has far more side effects than the ring or a pill. Essentially you're trading low dose hormones over a month for a very high dose over 12 hours as needed. Your doctor (or planned parenthood) can offer you many contraceptive options confidentially.

Nuvaring: Plan b is not meant to be used as long term birth control. It is for use in emergency situations where sex took place without birth control or condoms. Nuvaring is a safe effective birth control method and a good choice.
