A member asked:

I take loestrin and skip the brown pills to skip periods because of cramps and heavy bleeding. is it safe to not have periods? it's been over 2 years.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes when due to OCa: Missing your period can be a problem requiring a check up for women not taking hormonal contraception. However, for women taking hormonal contraception it is usually normal, safe, even sometimes desirable. It is due to the suppressive effect of Progesterone on the uterine lining.
