What is the treatment of frozen semen. what are the causes?

Don't understand: You freeze semen to preserve it for further attempts at fertilization, when thawed out at a later date. It doesn't start out frozen unless you are mr. Freeze from the batman series. If you're not him, i doubt yours starts off frozen, so no treatment is needed.
