I wouldn't: Young kids often sample the world around them and use their sense of taste to explore objects they find. You might look through the house and see what other things the kid has access to, as I have had some come in with bugs from potted plants (some don't digest), buttons, etc. Most small objects that make it into the stomach will pass through ok. Button batteries can be deadly.
