Masturbation: Norms: Masturbation is a common and normal part of the human experience. Nearly every man or adolescent you know masturbates or has masturbated. There is no medical or health reason to limit your sexual experience, especially when it comes to masturbation.

I have known people (men and women) who felt compelled to masturbate many, many times a day -- and whose activities eclipsed their lives. Any activity can be used addictively, and only the person himself or herself knows how much s/he is really doing. Masturbation is very common and can of course be healthy in varying amounts, as long as other aspects of life are not neglected in comparison.

Masturbation: I agree with dr. Killian about the universality of masturbation. However, if this is interrupting other activities you also want to do -- like being with friends, working, studying, etc -- it could be an addictive behavior. Only you really know the degree of your activities. If you're doing this to the exclusion of a whole & balanced life, there is still help. Talk to your doctor.
