Can diabetic type 2 patients safely use viagra (sildenafil)?

ED Treatments in DM: Patients with diabetes (dm) and erectile dysfunction (ed) are more difficult to treat. Because of the effects on blood vessels and nerves, diabetics may not respond as well to oral treatments like viagra. However, viagra is safe to take, as long as you don't have any condition or medicines that prevent you from doing so. Talk with your doctor about giving viagra, Cialis or Levitra (vardenafil) a try.

Yes: In general, and in the absence of any other health information about them (such as medications they are on), it is safe for patients with type 2 diabetes to take Viagra (sildenafil). Medications to avoid include: nitrate-based medications for blood pressure but also lesser-known ones to be aware of include: furosemide (Lasix), clarithromycin (Biaxin), and other meds, including alpha blockers for blood pressure
