Testosterone: There are several things that can cause erectile dysfunction (ed) which is difficulty attaining or sustaining an adequate erection. One is "idiopathic", meaning the problem just "is" and we cannot find an underlying cause. However, low testosterone is a reasonably common underlying cause and it may serve you well to rule this out as a possibility. Low testosterone can also lead to other issues.

Priapism: Assuming you haven't taken medicine for ED or had any trauma to the area, this can sometimes occur for various reasons including certain medications, problems with the blood (sickle cell anemia) or circulation. If it is painful go to the er for treatment. If not painful, you could try putting ice on the area between your scrotum and anus.
