A 25-year-old female asked:

Have had fluffy ragged edged poop on and off for a few weeks now, light brown colored. have also bad a metallic smell to my poop for about a month. no visual signs of blood in stool. some stomach gurgling/belching. what could cause the smell?

Diet?: Most of the time, the smell and appearance of the stool is related to something being ingested. So, are you eating or drinking something different since the smell changed? If so, try eliminating that and see if the smell goes away. Your doctor can also test your stool for microscopic blood that you wouldn’t be able to see. Best of luck-let us know if you figure out the culprit!
