A member asked:

What's the difference between expose to herpes and infected with herpes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Exposure / infection: Exposed means you came in contact with someone who had herpes. An exposure doesn't always lead to an infection. Infection is when the virus has attacked your body and you have signs/symptoms of infection (such as a cold sore or genital herpes).
