A member asked:

Is molluscum contagiosum always associated with hiv in adults? is it possible for healthy adults to have this? i am having just two lesions on my chest since 7-8 months, there aren't any new lesions and these are also not going away. related to hiv?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: It is a virus closely related to the common wart virus. I have seen it in normal kids & adults. They can often take a year to disappear.
