Taking a generic amoxicillin for almost 2 weeks after a tooth extraction. i am on birth control pills. havent had any spotting until today. read many sources saying antibiotics do not affect birth control pills. is the spotting a sign of ovulation?

Can be ovulation: Spotting can occur during ovulation,but also can occur early in pregnancy.Antibiotics can decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills.If you are sexually active and you don't get your regular period(if you get periods on the particular pill you are on),I recommend doing a pregnancy test.If you are continuing on the antibiotics,please use a condom in addition to your pills(or hold off on sex)
