When you have the hpv vaccination and you are sexually active, do you have to abstain from sexual intercourse until all injections have been administered for it to be effective?

No....but...: The HPV vaccine will start providing protection from the strains represented in that particular vaccine a few weeks after the 1st dose. Additional doses push the bodies immune system to remember the vaccine making the protection last longer. Just 1 dose would give transient protection while the full series could give decades.
