Unprotected sex: The spotting and brown discharge is probably nothing and I wouldn't worry about it. However, if you are having unprotected sex but are trying to prevent pregnancy, you should take Plan B/emergency contraception as soon as possible. It is best when used right away, but has some effectiveness up to 5 days after unprotected sex.
