No ovulation: Birth control pills prevent ovulation. When you are on birth control then you do not ovulate. This is how they work. One of the benefits of 24/4 pills is that they cause very short, light periods. In lucky people you may not have periods at all. This is one of the reasons this type of pill is quite popular.
