Yes: If you miss your period by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.

It takes time: It sounds as if you have only tried for one month. The chances for pregnancy in a normal fertile couple is only 1/4 to 1/5 each month. Most couples will get pregnant in 3-6 months. Your timing sounds fine so just continue to try and get help after a year, 6 months if the cycles are irregular.

Pretty good: If you are wanting to be pregnant then that is the way to do it. If you are not wanting to get pregnant then use Plan B if intercourse was within 72 hours.

Unprotected sex: Your timing of the morning after pill was right on but unfortunately, it does not work 100 percent of the time. If you do not get a period at your expected time, i would follow up with my gyn for a pregnancy test.

Hard to guess: For a population of normal healthy women, the chances of getting pregnant when trying to get pregnant is about 20-25% for the month. However, it is not possible to guess an individual woman's chance of getting pregnant (nature just doesn't work that way). Some of it is timing; some of it is luck.
