A 20-year-old female asked:

Is 2 weeks after sex enough to get a reliable result in pregnancy test?

If positive: If you do the test correctly and it is positive, it is reliable. If it is negative repeat a week later, unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.

Does taking a pregnancy test after sex effect the results?

You can take it: After sex if you are testing due to sexual activity that occurred previously. However, if you just had sex- the test would not show pregnancy from that sexual activity.
