Entirely different: The only thing common between herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV2) and the chickenpox virus, varicella zoster virus (VZV), is the name herpes. After childhood chickenpox, everyone remains susceptible to HSV2 if exposed. Transmission risk of HSV2 is no different in people with or without past chickenpox.
