Are nuvaring and the patch more dangerous than birth control pills?

No: The nuva ring and the patch are both forms of birth control pills with the same two hormones. The only difference is with the ring the hormones are absorbed vaginally, and with the patch through the skin. Nuva ring is quite low dose in hormones. The patch is a little higher in hormone dose.
