Don't worry: Ideally, birth control pills should be started while a woman is on her period or just after it stops. It is usually recommended to start the pills the Sunday after your period starts. If you started the pills prior to starting your period, that may explain why you are continuing now. Unless the bleeding is heavy, continue taking the pills as prescribed, and the pills should regulate your period.
