Protected= no sperm?: Even if a person had unprotected sex this time, and no sex in the 3 weeks prior, this last episode of sex is still too recent to have anything to do with an embryo implanting (it takes over a week to go from sex...to fertilized egg...to an embryo...to implant into the uterus). However, if a person also had sex 1-2 weeks earlier, conception could have happened 1-2 weeks ago, with some spotting now.
