A member asked:

Are early response home pregnancy tests accurate 10-14 days after sex? i'm on the pill and my period isn't due until 4 weeks after the sex in question

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe. Maybe not.: A urine pregnancy test, done correctly, gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred). If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test. It's best to be patient and not test too early.
