I have herpes i was wondering if my partner would receive it as well even if i'm not having an out break and we are using protection?

If you are using : Protection it would help,as long as sexual contact is only genital.If any other e.g. Oral , you would have to use protection too.Your best bet,is to use prophylactic antiviral , Valtrex (valacyclovir) or Famvir daily.If you feel like you are about to have an outbreak ,then abstain
