Rule out P.G.: I don't know what is causing the late period as there are several possible reasons. The most important reason to rule out is ectopic pregnancy by doing a pregnancy test. When tubal ligations fail, the pregnancy has a tendency to get stuck in a partially blocked tubal segment which can rupture through the tube and attendant blood vessels.
