Hormonal methods,yes: Birth control pills, patch, ring, the shot, iuds, implant all currently require a prescription. These methods are top every effective if used consistently. The american college of ob/gyns has recommended over-the-counter pills. Other options: condoms, spermicides, don't require a prescription. Emergency contraception doesn't require prescription for those 17 and older.
