A member asked:

I took contraceptive before 72 hrs, being precise 2-3 hrs before completing 72 hrs. will contraceptive be effective? will i get pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: The effectiveness of this medication is best when given on the early end of the time suggested but can also be effective beyond 72 hrs. Even if given at 24 hrs there is a risk of failure. Only the passage of time will allow the outcome to be evident. There may not have been a fertile egg in position to result in conception to begin with.
