A member asked:

Will a twisted or unretracted testicle heal on its own?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not likely at 44 yrs: These are two different problems. Torsion, or twisting of the testis can be intermittent, although typically is causes a severe unrelenting pain due to cutting off the blood supply of the testis. Emergency surgery is required to salvage the testis. An undescended testis typically will not change location after the first year of age. Surgery to correct the problem is performed in early childhood.
