If you have sex with a person with aids, do you get infected right away? are there any chances to not get it?

HIV/AIDS: A receptive sex position makes you more vulnerable for infection (hopefully you wear condoms). Insertive may still acquire but at lower rates. If they have a viral load..The more virus they have the higher chance of passing it along. If they are undetectable drops the chances dramatically. There is always a chances you not acquiring...But your playing with fire then.

The question you ask..will you get infected right away. Its more accurate to say you will acquire the virus right away. But people do not progress to AIDS right away. In general terms...if the average health non-HIV infected person has say 1000 CD4 cells/mm3...people lose about 100/mm3 a year. Therefore in about 8-10 years symptoms of full blown AIDS will develop. It may happen somewhat faster but this is my rule of thumb.
