Depends on when: Oral Provera (medroxyprogesterone) when taken at the onset of a menstrual cycle in large doses can arrest ovulation as well as any bleeding until it is stopped. Otherwise, if given after estrogen has been initiated during the first 10 days of the cycle will not have the same effect.
