Yes, : Yes, it is too early to take a pregnancy test and have it be accurate if the episode of unprotected sex was only a week and a half ago. A urine pregnancy measures a hormone (bhcg) in the urine only seen in pregnant women. If this hormone has not had enough time to build up to detectable levels, the pregnancy test will test negative even if you are pregnant. If you continue to not have your period, you should test yourself when it has been closer to 3 weeks after you had sex (1-2 weeks after your missed period) for the pregnancy test to be more accurate. Good luck!

May be too early: Repeat the test in a week or so unless you get a period by then. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD.
