Safe: Sexual intercourse is not contraindicated during pregnancy, in most cases. Abstinence is generally recommended for patients with an incompetent cervix, placenta previa, and for patients with premature labor. Sexual intercourse during pregnancy may cause some contractions, but will not cause labor. It is associated with an increased incidence of spotting or bleeding during pregnancy.

Pregnancy: Unless you have a specific contraindication (which your doctor would educate you about ) then sex is usually fine during pregnancy.

Usually yes!: In early pregnancy there should be no problem having sex. Later on, there are certain medical conditions later in pregnancy that may cause your doctor to recommend you avoid intercourse (placenta previa, preterm labor, etc) but for most pregnancies it is safe to have sex for all 9 months.

Yes, safe: Yes, it's perfectly safe. Your cervix has a thick mucus plug that prevents entry to pathologic agents. It also prevents sperm from getting in. Sperm left inside the vagina die within a matter of a few hours due to the acidic nature of that environment.

Emerg. contraception: The emergency contraceptive morning-after pill taken soon after sex is very effective in preventing pregnancy. It is about 95% effective, which translates to: if 100 women take the pill the day after sex, about 95 will not get pregnant from that sex. One can do a urine pregnancy test about 3 weeks after sex, to make sure there is no pregnancy.
