Breast bruising: Minor bruising can be normal after any surgery. If there is bruising that covers a large area or if there is a particular area that is very bruised, swollen, and firm, then you should call your surgeon immediately because you might have developed a hematoma (blood collection).

Bruising: After breast implant surgery, it is possible and not uncommon to see some minimal bruising. This will take a few weeks to go away. If one breast is very swollen, painful, and appears more bruised than the other, this could be a hematoma. A hematoma is a collection of blood around the implant which needs to be drained. If it left untreated, it can lead to further complications.

Normal but varies : It is quite normal to bruise following breast augmentation but this will vary tremendously with technique as well as your won bruising tendencies. In the worst cases it generally resolves by 3-4 weeks and should affect both breasts similarly if the same procedures were used for each breast.

May be.: Some degree of bruising is commonly seen after breast augmentation surgery. If this bruising is “severe” or associated with significant swelling, it may be a sign of a complication such as bleeding/hematoma. Of course, patients should always check with their own plastic surgeons for precise advice/diagnosis. Best wishes.
