A member asked:

In july i stopped taking my birth control and i haven't gotten my period since. i'm not pregnant and i'm 22 years old. is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See your doctor: It typically takes one to three months to start menstrual cycles after stopping birth control pills (if you used Depo-Provera provera, (medroxyprogesterone) it could take nine months or so). You are probably approaching the three-month mark, so if you still don't see your period, see your doctor. You are probably not ovulating, and a physical exam and lab work can help figure out why.
