When ovulation stops: If you have biopsy proven endometriosis and residual was left behind, you may be a better candidate for Lupron (leuprolide) (gnrh agonist). This will cause a medical menopause and help treat & eliminate endometriotic lesions. Ocps can also work but take longer to achieve amenorrhea & anovulation and work best if taken continously with elimination of your cycle. You may have to wait another 1-2 months.

Excision surgery: Continuous oral contraceptives will work better than having a monthly period. Pain should improve after the second or third pack. Alternatively, you could have extensive excision of endometriosis in which is possible to remove all visible disease . See a surgeon who does this type of surgery often and ask how his/her patients do.
