Can taking birth control pills help a hormone imbalance?

It won't fix it: It will help to shed the uterine lining and may help with some things like unwanted male- type hair growth... But it won't fix the underlying imbalance. It's critical to have a diagnosis before simply taking a birth control pill.

Helps with bleeding: How do you know that you have a hormone imbalance? Blood tests are not accurate and change freq.. Typically patients are concerned with the manifestations of a "hormonal imbalance" - (if you want to call it that) such as abnormal uterine bleeding, ovarian cysts, premenstrual symptoms, acne, or menstrual cramps, for ex.. So if we discuss these symptoms, birth control pills can be very helpful.
