Well . . .: Alcohol is technically not referred to as the "date rape drug" -- that would more often be things like rohypnol, xanax, (alprazolam) clonazepam, ghb, and ketamine. But if you're intoxicated enough with alcohol, all kinds of things could happen that you'd prefer not to experience.

Commonly: Alcohol is so socially acceptable in many ways that it is a common adjunct to date rape - get the victim drunk beyond resistance and then rape becomes easy. Alcoholic drinks are also common vehicles for rape assistance drugs which can be dissolved in the drink and handed to the victim. Know you limits and know your company.
