AtDepends : The most common STDs are easily treated with antibiotics. Some std are resistant to antibiotic treatment. Know who you are hooking up with for a life time. Having an std doesn't preclude a life long relationship, but you need to know what you're getting yourself into.

DEPENDS: Treatment for each STI is different, some are treated by antibiotics and for others antiviral medications are prescribed . http://www.familyplanning.org.nz/advice/sexually-transmissible-infections/getting-tested-and-treatment
