Vulvar warts: All actual warts are detectable, but the smaller ones may require a magnifier or dermatoscope to be seen. Warts are caused by the hpv virus. The hpv virus lingers for years in the cells of the vulva and cervix. Thus you are at risk for new warts any time once you've had some previous ones. Latex allergy to condums can be another cause, or sensitivity to douches, lubricant, etc.

Actual warts are: Whereas actual vulvar warts can usually be identified by careful inspection, skin that is only just infected with the virus will appear totally normal. These areas may develop warts later, or more often will just pass on the microscopic viral particles to other people who come into close contact.
