Pregnancy: Pregnancy is the first thing that comes to mind. You may want to take a pregnancy test, and if positive, schedule an appointment with an obstetrician ASAP. Ask them to perform a transvaginal ultrasound to determine, if the pregnancy is inside the uterus or outside (tubal pregnancy, potentially life threatening) and whether you carry a singleton or multiples, and if there is a heart beat.

Pregnancy is the 1st thing that we thing of in a normal female having unprotected sex and normal periods. The bleeding that you are experiencing is concerning as this could be a miscarriage or the bleeding that can occur during the 1st trimester of a pregnancy. Please consult a physician.
