Pregnancy, mostly: Pre-ejaculate is produced from initial sexual arousal, and this contains semen. There is no benefit to attempting to 'hold in' an ejaculation, and it might cause discomfort from stress on urethral wall and sphincters. Condoms are effective, unobtrusive, and allow for 'release.'
