Irregular menses: Irregular menses makes one think of possible pregnancy. However, spotting and passing clots instead of having a regular menstrual flow can reflect an anovulatory cycle, thyroid abnormality, missing birth control pills early in one's cycle, infection, or can happen spontaneously. Do a pregnancy test to make sure you are not pregnant, and discuss with health care provider about possible causes.
