Vaginitis: Vaginitis is a non specific term for vaginal infection and inflammation. There can be infectious or non-infectious causes (for example chemicals). Since yeast can be a cause of vaginitis, then yeast infection medications can improve symptoms. If symptoms don't improve after, then there must be another cause. This can be clarified by a vaginal exam and testing for infection.
