Mid cycle: probably about 10-14 days after period you should have intercourse to conceive. You want his semen to be potent so a few well planned times is better than constant sex.

Ovulation: For the "average" woman, ovulation takes place on day 14 of her 28 day menstrual cycle, but it can vary a lot in real people. You count day 1 as the fist day of the period, not from when it stops. The best days to try for pregnancy are probably the day or two before ovulation, or the day of ovulation. Using a basal body temp thermometer can help you figure out when you ovulate
