A member asked:

I have an implanon birth control currently and i got it approx 16 months ago. my periods have been fairly regular on this. i just realized i haven't had my period in at least a month and a half. i am also having symptoms i had while pregnant with my son.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Progestin only BC: Implanon is a progestin only birth control implant. and it is not uncommon to have very sparse or no period after a period of time although it has been found to be effective for 3 years or more. Also, progestins tend to mimic pregnancy with nausea, bloating, weight gain and breast tenderness. Some medications can interfere with it's action, and it is possible to get pregnant. Do a HCG test.
