I have been on the depo-provera shot for over ayear, never had a cycle until now. it's been going on for two weeks and super heavy . should i call my doctor?

Yes.: While this is probably a benign condition, your regular doctor knows more about your menstrual cycles and history prior to the depo. This info may have a bearing on the next steps taken.

Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding, no period, and spotting are common side effects of DepoProvera, amongst many others. Heavy bleeding can lead to anemia, dizziness, shortness of breath. Increase your fluid intake and notify your doctor of your symptoms if you are still bleeding in another week.
