School for STDs: There are twelve common STDs. Condoms will prevent most of them. But, remember Herpes is caught skin to skin and if the infected part of the skin is not part of the penis or vagina or anus (Where ever you are inserting the condom covered penis) then you are at risk of catching herpes. HPV, the wart virus, is also thought to be small enough to pass through condoms and this is a risk as well.
