Herpes 1 and 2: the majority of Genital Herpes is Type 2 however about a third of genital herpes is t ype 1 wich usually occurs on the face and is know as a 'cold sore' they are close cousins! Besides using a condom to prevent spread of genital herpes, there are a number of antriviral medications that decrease spread and can shorten an outbreak. See your physician for a prescription
