Not likely: Don't be afraid. Genital warts are common and they are contagious. They are spread almost exclusively by sexual encounters. While intercourse is the most common way to spread them, genital fingering or touching of an infected person can result in self-infection. Warts are small bumps, usually painless. They may cause itching and bleeding. There may be only a few or may be a lot.. Peter wilk, md.
